Kuma is the tag of the legendary graffiti writer who’s background and whereabouts are shrouded in mystery. For decades, Kuma has been a constant presence in major cities like NYC, San Francisco and Detroit. He’s also done a lot to build bridges with some of the best inernational writers, making global debuts in other scenes within Europe and Asia.
What’s next for Kuma is hard to say, as since 2016, Kuma has been suddenly missing from the public sphere, leading fans internationally to speculate on his whereabouts, or if he is still alive. One thing is for sure, Kuma created a blueprint of his own, using simple and playful styles that cling to the backdrop as if it were made exactly just for where it exists.
