NECKFACE
LOS ANGELES // CALIFORNIA
Neckface is a graffiti artist known for his unique and humorous style. My first memory of Neck is seeing his extinguisher tags way up high on a building and wondering how someone did that with a spray can. Mind blown! His themes tend to have a bloody, violent and medieval feel to them, but all in a fun and juvenile way. Obvious influences are also taken from heavy metal music. He went to The School of Visual Arts SVA in New York City, but said "I went to art school for two years and realized that it sucked... and dropped out.”
He started making stickers and putting them up in Stockton and Lodi, California. Then his work spread to San Francisco. The attention he received from his street work allowed him to move into the galleries. Neck Face's first gallery show was when he was 18-years-old at New Image Art in West Hollywood, California. He's also showed his work at the famed Luggage Store during its historic presence in San Francisco.
