Caledonia Curry aka Swoon is an American contemporary artist and filmmaker recognized around the world for her pioneering vision of public artwork. She has spent over 25 years exploring the depths of human complexity by mobilizing her artwork to fundamentally re-envision the communities we live in. Her story is one of creative progression, from the moment that she turned away from oil painting and began to carve her first linoleum blocks for the street, to home building work in Haiti, and everything in between. The Swoon HELLO MY NAME IS series from 1999 is an extremely rare and early example of Swoon’s handmade stickers that were one of her earliest street art projects ever done.
