TRIKE GND

Trike, aka Turk 1, TO and LP 136, began writing graffiti in the 1970s with the GND (Graffiti Never Dies) crew. Notorious and feared for his size and fighting skills, Trike One and other GND crew mates controlled Sheepshead Bay and were responsible for bombing the Coney Island trainyard, the biggest yard in Brooklyn. TRIKE1 is credited with painting the EE, F, GG, N, RR, M, B, D, and 6 lines in the 70s. Returning to New York after college in the 80s, Trike joined RTW (Rolling Thunder Writers), alongside some of the best writers and artists of the era, like Zephyr, Quik and Revolt. While Turhan Gumusdere aka TRIKE1 was best known as an old-school graffiti writer who used to bomb these NYC subway trains with his chisel tip styled tags and huge thow-ups in the 70s and 80s, most recently became the warden of Rikers’ biggest jail. His past was a secret until an anonymous Department of Corrections source made to light his illicit career decades ago.
